News on Keith!

News on the movie keith you heard it first from your #1 fan site for Jesse McCartney www.JesseMac.org if you use this info please credit the site for it, thanks!

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come out for several years. I've heard that it's produced by Miramax <http://www.thezreview.co.uk/comingsoon/k/keith.htm> and http://www.killermovies.com/k/keith/articles/3707.html. Miramax has a terrible reputation of buying a film and then not releasing it for several years or even at all <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miramax>. However, it may not even be produced by Miramax; according to <http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435679/companycredits> it is produced by Furst Films and No Hands Productions. The preview only indicates No Hands Productions as the production company.

Actors don't typically know anything about when the film will be released, or what the final cut will be until it is released. For example, in "Lucky Number Slevin" Lucy Lu didn't know if her character would survive or not until the very end of production. Jesse was probably told that the film would have been released Spring 2007 when he asked whoever, but because he's on a need to know basis (and he doesn't) he wont know until just before everybody else.

The film was filmed in November 2005 and news of its creation was released prior to that - it should be complete; it even has a poster, behind the scenes videos, photos of the film <http://www.mtv.com/shared/movies/features/k/keith_set_visit_120805/>, and a 2 min 4 sec trailer <http://www.conquistador-ent.com/keith.htm>. If nothing else we know the film is done because there was a limited showing of the film in LA <http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=3844924&blogID=198889158&MyToken=6acdfa2f-7dbd-4e30-9aee-a3f11e24845c>. I would say that Miramax (or whoever) just doesn't have the capital to release it yet and so it's sitting on some 'back burner' - at worst it will most likely be released sometime this decade. Until then, I recommend reading the story (it's short) by Ron Carlson. It's the second short story (19 pages) in Carlson's book "The Hotel Eden" (ISBN: 0-393-04068-2). I got the book for about $10.

Questions: At IMDb it says that the release date is 2007 (UK) - why the United Kingdom? It says the runtime is "Germany:93 min (European Film Market)". Why Germany? and what is the European Film Market?; I can't find any links/references to it and "Keith".
